My favorite song is called Never Ending by Rihanna. The purpose of this song is to tell a story about someone she used to love and how she cannot forget about them. She talks about being in love again and not being able to forget about someone else that she used to love. She says "it doesn't have to feel so strange to be in love again" and I believe she is using that in the story as well as telling it to her audience to encourage them. Rihanna's audience is generally females from teens to women in their early 30's i would say. She is definitely aiming this towards this audience in this song and throughout the entire album. She is trying to tell stories that this demographic can relate to as well as encourage them. Rihanna is using pathos in this song to appeal to the audience's emotions and make them feel what she felt when singing or perhaps writing this piece. This song is definitely emotional. The song is trying to create a sad or deeply emotional piece and the lyrics match the music perfectly. The wording of this song flows well with the music and the combination of the two make the song extremely emotional. The music creates a perfect background for the lyrics and how she wants the audience to feel. The genre is pop but very peaceful and a deeper kind of pop. The audience makes the genre pop because it is the same group that listens to Rihanna's pop music but this song kind of deviates from her usual genre as this one is more deep and emotional.
