The first brand that responded to me on Twitter was Zoes Kitchen. I tweeted a list of my five brands using their @ tags in order to make sure that each place got a notification. Zoes is a chain restaurant but is made up of franchises and is more low key than some of the larger chains that I followed. I figured that they may respond because of this as well as the fact that Zoes has a strong Twitter presence and engages with followers quickly and often. They attempt to make personal relationships so they responded very quickly. The brand that I specifically reached out to was Chipotle. I devoted an entire Tweet to them that said "my college meal plan consists of @chipotle and @chipotle" that way i was sure to specifially mention them again and this time, the tweet was only for them. I kept it short and simple but made sure that it made my appreciation for the company very clear. By mentioning them in a positive way, they interacted back because they also have a strong Twitter presence and focus on relationships with followers as well. Chipotle is a newer brand and they are very modern and cater towards a huge fan base of young, college aged kids. They are on Twitter because of this following and that is why i figured they would respond. My Tweet also mentioned college, and since this is a large fan base of theirs, my business is important to them and they wanted to make sure that I know that they appreciate me spending my limited college allowance and food money on their food. This is why i mentioned that and made sure it showed my dedication and love for Chipotle and i got the exact response that i was aiming for and what one would expect from Chipotle. They use their social media presence to keep their customers.
