A case in which I felt that the book was not better than the movie was "Divergent". Although the book was very well written and entertaining, the movie did a fantastic job of bringing the story to life. The movie was cast perfectly and all of the most important situations and parts from the book were acted out extremely well and in depth in the movie. The cast allows the viewer to see a visual and i feel that the people cast in this movie perfectly portrayed the attitudes and personalities of the characters from the book. It intensified the love story and thickened the plot. It evokes emotions from the viewer in around two hours, that would take much longer through a book. The movie made me cry and feel the intensity that was felt in the book as well. I do not feel that anything was lost when this was made into a movie because the viewer still gets to see the entire plot. The use of background music was strong in this movie as well and that is something else that cannot be done in the book. The use of music amps up the emotion and intensity and allows the viewer to better understand the message that the writer/director was going for. Overall, everything about this movie made it thrilling and in my opinion, better than the book.
